Cembrit Transparent
It is rugged elegance.
Cembrit Transparent is stable sophistication in one board: An outside designed to impress.
An inside built to last. This board speaks to the senses with its elegant charm – and it doesn’t need to shout out to receive envious looks or positive attention.
The transparent surface lets you peek through the board, which reveals the true character of the robust core: Fibre-cement and coating in unity. A facade board that simply exudes style.
Cembrit Transparent facade boards combine the textured nuances and natural characteristics of the baseboard with a long-lasting performance of the transparent top coat. The colour added to the fibre cement reveals and highlights the fibres and other raw materials that provide its strength and character.
The extremely durable transparent coating then protects the board and ensures a smooth surface with long service life.
embrit Transparent for decorative walls cladding is a strong and non-combustible sheet of fibre cement.
The boards have a cement grey core with a strong and durable surface treatment of water-based acrylic paint in strong colours. Learn more about how Cembrit Transparent can be used in decorative interior wall cladding.

Fixing - wood
Cembrit Facade Screw is available as unpainted or in colours corresponding to the facade boards and in two steel qualities, A2 and A4. A washer is pre-mounted on the screw to ensure the screw is centred and the hole is closed.
Fixing - steel
For steel substructure use Cembrit Rivets steel 4.8x20mm or a Cembrit Facade screw CL-SS 4.8x29. A washer is pre-mounted on the screw to ensure the screw is centred and the hole is closed. Make sure to use Cembrit Nose tool together with the rivet gun to get the correct tightening of the rivet.

Timber Screw Joint

Battens should be a minimum of 20mm thickness to provide adequate ventilation. Batten width should be minimum 100mm for supporting battens, and 45mm for central battens. Joint gaps between boards should be a minimum of 8mm and a maximum of 16mm. When using timber battens, always use Cembrit EPDM with profiled ribs.
Timber Screw Detail

Cembrit recommends using an EPDM of the same width as the selected batten. Cembrit facade boards can also be installed on horizontal battens. When using horizontal substructures, there must be a minimum 20mm ventilated area behind the horizontal supporting battens.
Aluminum Installation

Aluminium support system Mounting 8mm Cembrit facade boards on aluminium Max. support distances: 629mm o.c. Max. rivet centres: 600mm Max wind load: Please refer to the wind load table for the correct distances for substructure and rivets. The following rivet types can be used for this construction: Cembrit Rivets Aluminium RIV-A 4.0x20mm
Aluminum L Profile Detail

Cembrit facade boards can also be installed on horizontal aluminium systems. When using a horizontal support system, there must be a minimum of 20mm ventilated vertical area between the profiles and the supporting wall or insulation.
Aluminum T Profile Joint

Edge Distances There should be a minimum of 20mm from the reverse of the facade board to the front face of the insulation to provide adequate ventilation. T profiles behind joints should be min 100mm width, and the L profiles should be min 40mm width. Joint gaps between boards should be min 8mm and max 16mm. The use of flat EPDM on aluminium profiles is optional, but from an aesthetic point of view, it may be advantageous to use it as the aluminium profiles will otherwise be visible through the joints. Alternatively, you can use black UV tape or painted aluminium profiles.
Steel Installation

To ensure the optimum, long term performance and aesthetic characteristics for Cembrit facade boards it is vital to ensure that the support system substructure is absolutely straight, horizontally and vertically. In order to ensure this, please follow the guidelines below. Straightness of substructure The horizontal tolerance is +/- 3.0mm measured over a distance of 2 meters The vertical tolerance is +/- 0.5mm over 600mm measured over a distance of 2 meters.
Top Hat Centers

Edge Distances There should be a minimum of 20mm from the reverse of the facade board to the front face of the Windstopper or insulation to provide adequate ventilation. The profiles behind joints should be min 100mm width, and the middle profiles should be min 40mm width. Joint gaps between boards should be min 8mm and max 16mm. Always use flat EPTL/EPDM on steel profiles as it will provide adequate protection of the boards from moisture movements. From an aesthetic point of view, including the EPTL/EPDM will also make the steel profiles less visible through the joints.
Top Hat Centers

Cembrit facade boards can also be installed on horizontal steel profile systems. When using a horizontal Cembrit VFL profile, the profiles can be mounted directly on the wall since it is perforated and the air can move freely. If using other horizontal systems, a minimum of 20mm ventilated vertical area between the profiles and the supporting wall or insulation must be ensured.
